Main Street Marketing Machines – How To Rank WordPress Blogs Using Search Engine Optimization

Video 1 – Introduction

This is the first in a series of videos I did to help one of my Main Street Marketing Machines mastermind members who was having a bit of trouble getting one of her client’s sites ranked.

I do this kind of thing to help anyone who purchases main street marketing machines or main street marketing machines 2 through my affiliate link, along with lots of other Main Street Marketing Machines 2 bonuses.

After reviewing the site, I identified the problem – there was not enough content and the internal and external linking, as well as category and tag structures all needed tweaking to rank in a competitive market.

This is a series of 12 videos, reviewing and making the necessary adjustments to get a local (or even global) wordpress site to rank for a business.

Video 2: Adding Content

In this video we review places that you can go and strategies you can use to find content for your site, and for local sites in particular, by using Google to ask questions that searchers may be asking and by looking for private label rights (PLR) content, which we use on this site.

Video 3: Plugin Installation

One of the best things you can do to speed up the process of getting your WordPress sites ranked high in Google is to use a special cocktail of plugins that are readily available to add functionality to the already search engine friendly WordPress blog engine

In this video we identify those plugins, install them and I share one of my favorite plugins that helps automate this entire process. Best of all, you can get the lite version of this plugin for free, and it is amazing.

This video walks you through the process of configuring your plugins for maximum effectiveness.

Video 6: Adding Your Post

Now that you have all the extra tools and the basics down and configured for maximizing your post rankings, it’s time to add some posts to your site.

So, in this video, I create a post and add it to the blog, and you get to see how it’s done the right way, which, as usual, will give it the best chance of being indexed the fastest, bringing your site up to the top of Google.

Video 7: Formatting Your Post

Now that you have all the extra tools and the basics down and configured for maximizing your post rankings, it’s time to add some posts to your site.

So, in this video, I create a post and add it to the blog, and you get to see how it’s done the right way, which, as usual, will give it the best chance of being indexed the fastest, bringing your site up to the top of Google.

Video 8: Adding & Linking Post Images

It’s time sexy up your post now by adding some life to it. We’ll do this by adding an image to your post, and I’ll show you in the video below how to upload a photo, tag it in just the right way to get the attention of Google Image search and make your posts look amazing, all in just a few minutes.

Video 9: Internal & External Post Linking

Okay, so your post is live and it’s pretty and everything is looking good. Now, we need to add some links to drive authority up the structure of your blog to its main domain name. Each post will do this with the correct internal linking strategy, and I’ll show you how to do it here.

Also, Google wants us to play nice with the other people in our niche, so they will give us brownie points if we link out to relevant, high authority content from our blog. We’ll review just exactly how to do that in the video below, including how to find the right sites to link to and just exactly how to create those links.

Video 10: Post Categories

Categories in Word Press are signposts to content types. By putting our posts in relevant categories, we can let Google and the other search engines know that our content is about some specific topic in some specific niche.

Categories make that possible, so I talk about the way to find out what your categories should be and also how to create them and use them for the best impact on search rankings.

Video 11: Post Tagging

Once you have your categories selected and added, the next step is to add the proper tags to your post. Categories are larger content descriptors and tags are more narrow.

Tags let you drill down to specific mentions in your post, so that people can find what they are looking for. In this video, we’ll explore how to automate your tagging and also seed your tags with your keyword phrases to give the search engines exactly what they’re looking for.

Main Street Marketing Machines 2 – SEO Your Local Listings Video 12: Fiverr Link Building Strategy

With all your posts researched, added, linked internally and externally, then categorized and tagged properly, the only thing you may still want to do is to drive some external links to them. You can do this through the video blast features of Traffic Geyser in Main Street Marketing Machines and Social Media Marketing Machines, or use another service like TubeMogul or HeySpread, but sometimes that still is not enough, and you need a little extra oomph to break onto page 1 of Google.

When you do, try going to Fiverr.com and buying links that will really benefit you. I give you two good strategies for this in the video below…

Wow, your content is amazing. This is really great stuff that I can put into action immediately. I have a feeling these are some of the few missing pieces that have been holding my business back. What you are offering here for free is better than a lot of $1,000 courses out there.

  2. Wow Roland!
Could you like some time? I am only in Rio Rancho, NM. Some of the things you have shared in the past few videos have been answered in the last month of my computer class! Thanx!

Hi Robert, Happy to chat with you any time you like! Cheers, Roland

    Hi,

Thanks for your great free content here. I learned a bit on how to set up posts spec. for Local. That what I was looking for.

However, I’ve got a couple of questions to determine if your program is for me. So if you could, would you please answer my questions?

    1. I want to get into Local. But I’m not in an English speaking country. So if you are submitting your video’s in your native language to all these english speaking video sites, won’t that a. look weird b. won’t they get disapproved?

    2. In one of your vids you said to set your categories up according to the google wonder wheel scraper. However, in a lot of niches, for seo this will be great. However for the user experience, they will not be good. Like in your example. If I saw a professional site the way you set your categories up, I would walk away. Because if I saw electrician Bristol, electricans Bristol, Bristol electrician, Bristol electricians etc. I would think, why that many categories for the same thing? From seo maybe great, for the human visitor a questionmark? Also, is it really that great for seo? Because google is checking the value for a visitor more and more each month. So if they see basically the same keyword as categories, they are going to realize that it is purely for seo purposes

    3. About your last point. Doing video blasts. I was tought that is is not good to be building links to soley one type of backlinks. f.e. video. You should mix things up, like article submissions, directory submissions, forum profiles, blog commenting, podcasts etc. It is not natural if you do only one type of thing. I.e. only video blasts or only .edu backlinking and video backlinking?

Hope to hear from you soon…

  5. admin says:

    Hey Mark,

    1. No, you can submit in any language. That’s not an issue.
    2. I’ve not had any issues with people not visiting the sites because of the categories I use. You can create a great user experience and have categories.
    3. Video blasts are just one of many ways to build links, and they are definitely not the only way..
